Principles of Gestalt

In exploring visual principals of gestalt, which is the visual perception of things into groups, when certain principals are applied. That are applied in most designs. This assignment we communicated four main principals including; Similarity, Closure, Continuation, and Proximity. With each principal, we needed to apply a cohesive look to each example, so it becomes visually appealing and offer a similar them thought. The images below are my personal definitions of the principals being applied in a simple look. To look at more into my inspirations and design processes you can look here

Similarity- Are units that’s look similar to a whole shape, that the bigger lines are grouped while the smaller lines are group that have similar attributes.
Closure- The lines overlap each other have a break in the line as your eye will continue to enclosed the line, as your eye wants to connect them.
Continuation- Where objects moves through another, the expanding lines that come from one point and move further away, look like they continue to move further way even as it hits the edge of the paper.
Proximity- The lines closer to each other group things into a group when placed close together, rather than when they are far apart.
Theme
I used line and line thicknesses on a black background to provide an overall theme to the project.
